Alternative Dispute Resolution – Our attorneys regularly participate in alternative dispute resolutions such as arbitration and mediation.  In addition, Woodrow H. Griffin is a certified mediator and provides mediation services to attorneys throughout Western North Carolina.

Business Law and Disputes – The firm’s practice involves counseling clients through the process of creating, purchasing and selling businesses as well as the day to day legal issues that arise.  We have a significant practice in the area of commercial and business litigation.  Our experience in this field includes the representation of clients in complex contractual disputes, business torts and other actions relating to finance and business transactions.

Civil Litigation – Our attorneys’ litigation experience offers representation in virtually every aspect of civil litigation.  Our firm practices in all areas of civil litigation in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate court levels, including business and construction disputes, personal injury, estate litigation, defective products and property condemnation.

Condemnation – The firm represents clients whose land has been taken by government agencies.  We have a long history of representing businesses and individuals in obtaining fair compensation for their property.

Construction Law and Disputes – Our construction practice includes the representation of owners, developers, general contractors and subcontractors in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.  We also assist our clients in avoiding construction disputes by providing pertinent legal advice and preparation of appropriate construction documents.

Criminal – The firm’s practice includes defending clients against charges brought by state and federal agencies.  Our attorneys also regularly represent clients in connection with DUI/DWI and other traffic law violations.

Defective Products – We represent clients injured by a variety of products including cases involving pharmaceuticals and industrial products and equipment.

Family Law—Our attorneys understand the challenges faced by clients undergoing separation, divorce or child custody disputes and offer experienced guidance from beginning to end.  In addition we anticipate many of those same challenges and offer solid guidance in the preparation of premarital agreements and separation agreements.  Should the opportunity for adoption of a child arise we can guide you  through all stages of the adoption process.

Property Owners Associations— Condominium owners and owners of property in subdivisions often face issues arising from the operation of owners associations, the application of documents restricting the use of their property and the need for maintenance of roads and other common areas.  Many problems can be avoided by careful drafting of incorporation documents and agreements as well as amendments when needed.  Our attorneys have years of experience in helping both associations and individual owners resolve problems arising from condominiums and subdivisions.
