Condemnation

If the government takes or “condemns” your real property for a public purpose, such as constructing or widening a road, you are entitled to receive fair market value for the property.  As one might expect, citizens and the government often fail to see eye to eye on what constitutes fair market value for condemned property. Our attorneys can help to insure that you are getting fair and just compensation for your land, not simply what the government says is fair.

For decades, the lawyers at Brown, Ward & Haynes, P.A. have had a reputation as a top firm in the region for litigating condemnation cases against the government and getting beneficial results for our clients.

If you have received notice from the government of its intent to condemn all or part of your real property, you should call an attorney immediately.  Our attorneys are willing to travel throughout Western North Carolina to aggressively negotiate advantageous settlements for our clients or, if necessary, to call a case for a trial by jury in order to obtain maximum value for our clients’ condemned property.

For more information regarding condemnation, contact attorney John L. Ammons or M. Chase Wells
